Morsbag Monday

7:30:00 AM

At my first Chicago Modern Quilt Guild meeting, we had a sew-in to create Morsbags for the Chicago Food Depository. Morsbags are handmade cotton shopping bags, and according to their website one cloth bag can, in its lifetime, eliminate up to 100 plastic bags.

At the sew-in I managed to create 4 of these bags from my stash; today I managed to make another 2 to donate at our next meeting. I hope to make at least one more before the next get-together.
The tutorial to make these bags can be found at http://www.morsbags.com.

In other news, I have joined a great group of ladies in a newly formed bee, Color Bee Shocked. We start up in November with 12 of us participating monthly for the next year. Very exciting. I love doing things like this - I love the challenge of trying something new and different. I can't wait to start; Anna over at Random Musings of an Anna is up first and has requested blocks containing circles... it's gonna be a blast!

Happy sewing!
