my new quilting tool...

"The Big Bang" fans are going to love this.

My husband was really thinking this Christmas; he was worried about my anxiety levels with choosing design principles when I'm quilting.

So, he got me a new 'quilting tool', as he called it.

It's an "Executive Decision Maker: Schrodinger's Box".

I just about died laughing when I opened it; if you ever had a Magic 8 ball when you were a kid, it's basically the same principle. Ask the box a yes or no question, and open the door - the cat is either dead or alive.

Too funny.

And for those who don't watch the Big Bang, or aren't familiar with Schrodinger's Cat Paradox, here is the definition, from Wikipedia:

Schrödinger's Cat: A cat, a flask of poison and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal monitor detects radioactivity (i.e. a single atom decaying), the flask is shattered, releasing the poison that kills the cat. There is a supposed 50% chance of this happening. The Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics implies that after a while, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Yet, when one looks in the box, one sees the cat either alive or dead, not both alive and dead. This poses the question of when exactly superposition ends and reality collapses into one possibility or the other.

So now I'll be able to make design decisions much easier! Thanks hunny! lol.
