...and finally, it's Spring.

Oh my goodness.

What a crazy few weeks I've had.

We moved into our new home near the end of February, and while the move went smoothly, the initially small (or that's what we thought) issues with the house weren't so small at all.

The first two weeks living in our new abode were met with a barrage of contractors coming through the house, working away. And I must note that my hubby and I are pretty darned handy (if you haven't gathered from my crazy DIY-laden instagram feed...) so that should be an indicator as to how major the problems were.

Anywho.

Now we're at a point where we can happily plug away on little things in the house. Well, not quite 'little' things - most are pretty big jobs actually - but I'm trying to remain positive that we can tackle much of it on our own over the next few years. Hopefully. Lord knows our cheque book has taken a beating in the last month, hahah.

So! As the snow melts at a rapid pace here in Chicago, and as I skulk and stalk Pinterest like the crazed new-homeowner that I am, might I take a minute to share a few pics of the kids running in their new back yard - the first time they've ever had a yard (!) and every time I think of that, I just want to cry.

This. This is what I wanted for my kids!

Audrey, aged 3.

Ewan, aged 16 months, with Grandma.
Happy Spring, everyone! Happy Spring.

  4. Congrats on being a home owner Erin. The hubby of 60 years, and I are both Chicago born kids and still live in the area, not the city, but in the burbs. I know you will enjoy having a yard for the kids to play in, and definitely a plus having it fenced in. lv2bquilting2@comcast.net

  5. A yard is a wonderful thing! One that's not buried under four feet of snow, even better! Can't wait until we can see our yard again :)
