Lol love it! The quilt looks so bright and sweet! I just tackled curves for the first time too - I couldn't imagine doing a whole quilt of it though.
ReplyDeleteFunny - I visited Chicago once years ago and the wind is definitely something I remember from that trip! Love your modification to the quilt to keep it safe in the pram!
The wind is great - it's so refreshing! And I guess there's a reason they call Chicago the windy city, hahaha.
DeleteLOL is right! It might have been very challenging, but it certainly was worth it. It looks great! The mitten clips is genius! I wish I'd thought of that when I needed it. I can't remember how many times it was me running after the quilt or running over it with the stroller. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks M-R! I love mitten clips. If there's a way to use them, I'll find it, lol.
DeleteTurned out really pretty despite the desire to walk away from it. Glad you made it. And I love Chicago in spite of the wind. I grew up in Michigan so Chicago was the closest big city and I adore the Shedd Aqurium and the Field Museum.
ReplyDeleteCool Anna! We're actually off to the Shedd in a couple of weeks for the first time - I'm really excited!
DeleteBeautiful. The apple cores are perfect. I love the splashes of orange. Will definitely be back to see your tips for adding clips. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin! We've already tested the blanket out during a huge wind storm yesterday - oh baby, do they work! lol
DeleteWhat a terrific idea, incorporating the mitten clips! This turned out so nicely with the colors on the front and the rich purple minkee for the back. Yeah, it's tough quilting on that, isn't it? But it's SOOO stinkin' soft, you just gotta use it sometimes. :D
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Minky is *almost* irresistible - almost - lol!!
DeleteSo bright and cheerful! I want to try to make an apple core quilt one day :)Gorgeous quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Samantha! It's definitely a cool pattern to try :)
DeleteThanks for popping by!
one of these days I am going to get up the courage to try an apple core quilt :) Love the mitten clip idea! absolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks Allison!
DeleteYou really should - as much of a pain as it was, it was worth it. It looks sooo cool :)
And mitten clips. Aw, MacGyver would be proud! lol
