Bella Skill Builder - June - Half Square Triangle
5:30:00 AMOh my goodness! Can you believe that it's June 1 already?! Insane, right? Time for another installment of the Bella Skill Builder Quilt Along hosted by The Fat Quarter Shop. This month's block was the Half Square Triangle, and it was quick and easy, especially with the Triangles on a Roll paper:
For this block I used Bella Solids in Ivory, Christmas Red and Nautical; here's my original color palette inspiration:
I'm happy to be participating in this one, it's shaping up to be a great quilt with lots of funky blocks. Here are all of my previous posts from the quilt along:
The blocks came together really quickly with the Triangles on a Roll paper. A few tips for this month's blocks:
- set your stitch length a bit shorter so that ripping your paper off will be a bit easier; I set mine to 1.5 on my Janome
- remember to sew on the dotted lines and cut on the solid
- I pinned my rows together after nesting seams the best I could to try and get my points to align nicely when assembling my block.
The pattern is available on the first of each month on the Jolly Jabber, and there’s a kit for the quilt along available here if you like.
Check out the Fat Quarter Shop’s You Tube Page (here) for their video tutorial on these blocks. You can visit the Jolly Jabber today to see all of the other participant’s blocks and to see what they’ve been up to.
And remember you can pin all of the pretty blocks on Pinterest from the hop today for future reference, I love seeing how all of the different bloggers interpret the blocks!
