Worldwide Quilting Day: March 15, 2014

10:00:00 AM

Good morning everyone and happy Worldwide Quilting Day!

What's everybody up to today? Are you celebrating by working on some quilty-related projects?

Or maybe you're spending the day in your jammies, shopping for your favorite fabrics online?

Today I'm busy organizing my sewing area (yippee!). I managed to pop out to the dollar store a couple of days ago to pick up some cheap, clear, plastic bins to store my scraps in and last night, while sitting in front of the t.v. (watching House of Cards...) mum and I sorted said scraps.
who doesn't love going to the Dollar Store???
yesterday I made the trek to Ikea to get some much-needed shelving for the area:

I also picked up this NOT lamp for $12. I stuck it in the dark corner I press and iron in. (picture of it in the space to follow).

My mum has been visiting me and, in her spare moments, has been busy folding and organizing all of my fabrics. LOVE HER! My stash and area are looking great now. My one regret is that I didn't take a 'before' picture of my entire sewing area. I'm going to try and do that today while I organize and put up shelves.

I'm in the midst of a couple of giveaways here, too, so if you haven't entered them, head over to these posts:

  1. Enter to win a Craftsy class of your choice!
  2. The "What's in your Bucket?" Quilty-Bucket List Blog Hop!

...and follow the directions to enter.

And for those participating in the Classic meets Modern QAL here, how are you doing with March's block? I know the curved piecing intimidates some, but the biggest thing is to just take your time :)

Here are the blocks thus far for the month of March:

They are looking beautiful! Don't forget to link up your blocks to be entered to win the Denise Schmidt Chiccopee charm pack ;)

April's block is already complete and the post is ready to go live for April 1 - and yes, it's a quick and easy block. Hang in there everyone!

And - time to announce the winner of February's Amethyst block - chosen by random number generator, winner of a Lime Rickey apron pattern :
