Rush Hour Blog Hop & Giveaway!

8:09:00 AM

Hi all, and welcome to the next stop on the "Rush Hour!" blog hop!

I just want to take a minute to thank Mdm Samm at ! Sew WE Quilt ! and Carol at Just Let me Quilt! for organizing and being the hostesses with the mostestestsss (< does that make sense?! I know I'm making up words here hehehe )

Also, when you're done here today, make sure to head over to the other lovely crafters and quilters creating for the hop! Here's the list:

Friday, September 26
Coeur d’Alene (moved to Monday!)

(And for the entire hop list, make sure to head over to Carol's blog and click all the links for all of the participants in this super fun hop!)

So the theme for this hop was - red, black, and white - and anything created in those colors!

I knew exactly what I'd do for it. A little pocket/purse notebook, perfect for jotting down little thoughts, or for taking notes at a guild meeting, or maybe for the beginnings of your next hot and steamy quilty manuscript heheh. You decide!

Anyone who reads my blog knows I love me a good hexie - well, hexie anything, really - and this book was so tiny, it required some pretty tiny hexies (3/8" hexies, to be exact!)

I had a lot of fun with this little project - so much fun, I have to share the love!

Wanna chance to win it, a gorgeous new Pilot fountain pen, a purse-sized Honest Company hand lotion, and a spool of thread?

Here are the rules!

1. Leave a comment below telling me how you spent your summer. Anything at all!

2. (optional) If you're a follower (via Bloglovin', Feedly, etc.,) feel free to leave a second comment telling me you are for an optional second entry! Of course, new followers are always welcome, but be forewarned, there are a lot of shenanigans to be had here (ask any current readers...)

If you're a new visitor, and you'd like to follow me, click your favorite reader coffee cup below!

  • To follow by Bloglovin', click > photo bloglovinsewathomemummy_zps59ce90db.jpg
  • To follow by Feedly, click >follow us in feedly
  • To follow via FeedBurner, click > photo iconfeedburner_zpsc89d3260.jpg

3. Open to international residents, too (i.e. those outside of the US)

4. If you're a no-reply blogger make sure to leave your email address in your entry! If I can't contact you, you can't win - boo!

Good luck everyone! I'll choose a winner by random number on October 1, and notify the winner by email.

Happy hopping, enjoy the rest of the stops on the blog hop tour!

As a side note, I've been so lucky as to reach 700+ Bloglovin' readers here on my blog (I LOVE YOU ALL!) and I'm in the process of writing up a post with a giveaway for that - so stay tuned. I took a bit of an informal poll, and a lot of you wanted some of my scraps (really?! OKAY!) and maybe something handmade from me (DONE!), and of course I'll have to throw in some other goodies, so look for a post on that in the coming days.

I appreciate you guys so much. Thank you. (hormonal sobbing mess of a Blogger, out! hahah)

Giveaway closed - winner announced tomorrow (October 2) - thank you to all of those who participated!

  20. I am a scrap collector too of 100% cotton fabric ~ I love ***s! ~ the assortment works great for the individual points. What a fantastic giveaway ~ I have not been brave to try hexagons. Our summer has gone quickly past here on Lane Hill. We moved to a small rural Ozark community when we retired and love it here. We are in the middle of our adult children in three states in a long day's drive. I write historical fiction book reviews and have read some debut novels this summer. Of course, collecting fabric along the way wherever we have stopped to check out antique/resale shops. My husband and I play board games in the evening and have enjoyed a new one for us ~ Ticket to Ride; a railroad travel game. Our clue to each other is, "Are you ready to take a trip?" So, our summer has seen short and several trips! I am enjoying these fabulous ideas on this Rush Hour Blog Hop. Thank all of you! By the way, look for coeur d'alene on Monday instead of today. coeurdalenegifts.blogspot.com/2014/09/rush-hour-blog-hop-date-change.html

  38. Love your little pad cover! So cute! I spent the summer with my new grandson & his mommy & daddy. They had to move in with us for 5 months because he was born with a major heart defect, had two open-heart surgeries, and needed to be near the big hospital here. He is finally home with them, but we were blessed to have been able to give them a place to live during this difficult time. He has a 3rd surgery in 2-3 years, but for now he is doing fabulously.

  39. Congrats on the milestone! Don't pick me. That adorable little book would be wasted in my care. I'm OCD about what goes into my purse. Anything that can get krinkly is a no-no. You will find a wallet, checkbook, small pouch of useful goodies and a pen. My phone and keys only get to visit if I don't have pockets.

  40. I love those teeny hexies. I haven't been too well this summer so my lovely husband has taken me to a nearby park to sit and picnic and watch the little rabbits and ducks quite a lot while it's been hard to get about. Great as we have no garden.

  45. Ugh! Don't even want to think of this summer. Slaved over getting the farm ready to sell and moving pick up load by pickup load to the new house 1 1/2hrs away. Old people shouldn't try this alone. But the new house on the lake is great!

  49. Summer went way too quickly - so much fun to be had with warm weather. We always get in some boating and some bicycle riding. Spending time with family at reunions and parties is great. Got some time in doing some sewing/quilting, too. I get a bit grumpy when I can't sew! He, he.

    ReplyDelete
  50. what a cute notebook. Love the scissor fabric you chose and the teensy, tiny red hexies really pop! How sweet of you to offer this as a giveaway item along with the other goodies. My summer? I did some sewing--a wall hanging for my brand new first great niece and a chevron quilt to that will be her drag around quilt at some point--not quilted yet. Also made a tree skirt as a wedding present for another niece. Toss in blog hop items and there went summer!

Had a wonderful summer - first waiting for my 5th grandchild to arrive and he did on July 27 - beautiful Beckett - then in August I helped out for a month 'cos my son in law - Beckett's daddy - had to have emergency spine surgery on the same day Beckett was born! It was actually a good time and everyone is doing really well now - including Bowen who is 2 yrs old and Beckett's big brother. Not much sewing going on though.
