Classic meets Modern Quilt Along: DECEMBER - The Christmas Star block
6:00:00 AM
Hi all!
It's December!
The weather is colder, holidays are around the corner. It's the final month of the Classic meets Modern QAL (boo hoo!) and I thought we'd go out with a bang.
I have been sketching and working this block for quite a few months; I knew I wanted to do a star block of some kind, and I like the look of this one and how it turned out.
It's a little bit of cutting, and has a few small pieces - but it's beautiful, and totally worth it.
I've done two options again for this month, but as always, I love to see what your spin is on this block - fabrics, colors, composition - have fun with it - that's the name of this game!
Want to play along? Previous month's directions are posted in the right side bar.
As always, have a blast. Feel free to share a button or your block or a link back to this blog. Share the love.
And if you're posting on Instagram, we're using the hashtag #classicmeetsmodernqal
The block setting diagrams are being drafted as we speak - I have sketched them all out and am currently trying to figure out how to diagram them on Publisher, lol. Hang tight on this one.
I've been in contact with a very special quilty friend who has offered up a gorgeous giveaway for those who complete their quilt tops by the early New Year - I'll keep you posted on this one.
Make sure to link up your blocks below from your Flickr, Instagram (new!) or Blog sites :) We all love to see them!
